A
full time artist for many years, Nanci Allen has had
various solo and group showings on Long Island, New
York.
After many years of classical training in New York,
Kansas City and New Haven she turned to painting abstract
images.
As an artist, poet, lyricist and sculptor, the artist
has been inspired by many others, including Georgia
O'Keefe, Hans Hoffman, Chihuly, and Pollack just to
name a few.
But in the end, as she has said: I can only
paint as Nanci J. Allen.
Her paintings are all in acrylic and always in the abstract
style.
Nanci is well traveled and currently makes her home
in New York.
I paint from my cosmic center. I emerge myself
in the images and translate them with color and form
and design. I like to share my work with others. If
they feel something within themselves when they view
my art, I have achieved my goal. My paintings have evolved
from realistic depictions into a more abstract, purer
form as I try to achieve a symphonic composition with
color. I use the musical elements of balance and melody
and harmony to create symphonic art. I actually practice
chords and scales of art before I start to paint to
center and communicate. |
